At Kidz on the BLOK, our programs go beyond the chair. From free haircuts and styling to hands-on workshops in self-esteem, hair health, and entrepreneurship, every program is designed to help young people build confidence, develop new skills, and see their own potential. Beauty Is Organic

This program is all about self-love in action. Students learn how to care for and celebrate their natural hair, discover the beauty of different textures, and pick up fun, practical styling techniques along the way. Through hands-on activities, kids build the skills and confidence to express their unique style — inside and out.

Protect Your Crown

Join the adventure of understanding your hair better! Explore the concepts of porosity and elasticity, unravel the secrets of detangling, and master the art of choosing the right products for your hair, ensuring it stays protected and fabulous.

My Hair My Crown

Dive into the magical world of hair care! Discover the secrets of hair nutrition and growth, take care of your scalp, and learn awesome cleansing and nourishing techniques for your crown to make your hair happy and healthy.

F.R.E.S.H

Focused responsibility in everyday self-care & hygiene. A program that teaches the importance of personal hygiene, self-care, and confidence through engaging activities and real-world lessons. Students learn healthy habits, build self-esteem, and receive practical tools to help them look, feel, and do their best every day.

  • Crown Care Collective

    Our signature program offers free haircuts and basic styling services to students throughout the school year.

    Designed to remove barriers and build self-esteem, this program helps students show up to school feeling fresh, focused, and proud.

    Services are provided by licensed professionals and volunteers at pop-up events and partner locations.

    We believe in building confident leaders. Our Student Ambassador Program allows youth to:

    -Represent Kidz on the BLOK at events

    -Support peers

    -Lead outreach projects

    Ambassadors earn community service hours, mentorship, and a meaningful place in our BLOK family.

  • Apprenticeship

    This program provides training and state preparation for students 16+ who want to become certified to braid in Ohio.

    Students learn the basics of natural hairstyling, client care, and braid techniques, with mentorship from licensed professionals.

    We’ve helped students earn their boutique registration, a key step toward entrepreneurship or a career in beauty.
